You are out walking your dog, and you see the old lady on the corner watering her gardenias. You know she has told you her name, but you just can't remember it. So, all you can muster is "Hi, there!"
How often does this embarrassing situation happen? All too often! "NameTag NineTeenth" is a way to address this problem. The idea is to establish a completely voluntary social convention, wherein you can look forward to the 19th of each month as a day you can hope to catch that fellow whose name escapes you wearing his nametag. In other words, wearing a nametag on the 19th is a courtesy to help out people who would like to be your friends!
If you want to participate and help get this established as a common practice, it is easy. On the 19th of each month, try to remember to wear a nametag in public. Even better, wear 2:
Then, when people ask what that is, you can spread the word!
This is not something you do for yourself. It is something you do as a courtesy for all your acquaintances.
