NameTag NineTeenth

You are out walking your dog, and you see the old lady on the corner watering her gardenias. You know she has told you her name, but you just can't remember it. So, all you can muster is "Hi, there!"

How often does this embarrassing situation happen? All too often! That is why I am proposing "NameTag NineTeenth". This is a purely voluntary and optional social convention, designed to help us all with names.

If you want to participate and help get this established as a common practice, it is easy. On the 19th of each month, try to remember to wear a nametag in public. Even better, wear 2:

• One with your name
• One that says "NameTag NineTeenth"

Then, when people ask what that is, you can spread the word!

This is not something you do for yourself. It is something you do as a courtesy for all your acquaintances.
